Hippotherpy


Refers to how occupational therapy and physical therapy pathology professionals use evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning in the purposeful manipulation of equine movement as a therapy tool to engage sensory, neuromotor and cognitive systems to promote functional outcomes.

The Henry Wrinkles Foundation Therapy is an outpatient therapy clinic that provides occupational and physical therapy services.

We are committed to helping people achieve their greatest potential of independence using a transdisciplinary model of intervention. We specialize in incorporating equine movement as a treatment tool with our other standard tools/strategies.

Physical Therapy Service


Working with individuals maximizing their ability to successfully navigate the world to best fit their needs.

HWF physical therapists help individuals who struggle with body function deficits including strength, balance, & coordination among other conditions . Our physical therapists conduct comprehensive evaluations to help identify areas of need within these domains and develop dynamic treatment plans utilizing multiple therapy tools including animals to promote functional outcomes. The therapists’ help individuals problem-solve physical limitations, promote adaptability, and maximize their potential. Our PTs and PTAs work on a variety of skills, including but not limited to: 

  • Strength (both core and extremity) 

  • Muscle flexibility/ ROM

  • Coordination

  • Neurological issues

  • Body awareness

  • Motor planning

  • Endurance

  • Mobility training

  • Balance

  • Ambulation and Transfers (walking, running, jumping, etc.)

  • Other conditions (Autism, general development delays, etc.)

Occupational Therapy


Working with each individual ensuring Individual independence with one’s activities of daily living.

HWF occupational therapists help those who struggle with skills in the areas of fine motor, visual motor, social-emotional regulation, self-organization, and self-care routines. Our occupational therapists conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify areas of weakness within these domains and develop individualized treatment plans to promote functional outcomes. Our OTs and OTAs help those individuals who struggle with several skills, including but not limited to: 

  • Visual motor Skills

  • hand-eye coordination/ strength

  • bilateral coordination 

  • using tools of everyday living (toys, cutlery, etc.)

  • social-emotional regulation

  • somatosensory processing

  • motor planning

  • Cognitive problems

Therapeutic Riding


Therapeutic Riding is a recreational horseback riding class that is adapted specifically for individuals with disabilities. Riders will improve on their posture, core strength, and balance while also building confidence and independence in everyday living skills. Our class is taught with a riding instructor and side-walkers to ensure participant safety.

Equine Psychotherapy


Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is a route to mental health therapy that utilizes equine animals. This course allows children and adults to learn vital social, moral, and behavioral skills. Other animals on the farm can be incorporated into these therapies as well.
