HWF Therapy
Bringing healing to animals and humans alike.
The Henry Wrinkles Foundation Therapy is an outpatient therapy clinic that provides occupational, physical, and mental therapy services.
We are committed to helping people achieve their greatest potential of independence using a transdisciplinary model of intervention. We specialize in incorporating equine movement as a treatment tool with our other standard tools/strategies.
Our Therapy Services
With the help of our specially trained animals, we dedicate our time and resources to multiple kinds of therapy. Not only do we provide physical and emotional healing to humans, but we find a purpose for each animal through our therapy programs. Learn about each kind of therapy below!
Animal-Assisted Psychotherapy
Animal-assisted psychotherapy combines the emotional support and understanding that animals bring with the act of traditional therapy to improve the psychological state of those who need it.
Our animal-assisted therapy program takes rescue animals and gives them a purpose by bringing joy and long-lasting emotional well-being to patients.
Hippotherapy
Hippotherapy is an equine-assisted therapy that utilizes the movement of a horse’s body to aid in the improvement of a participating rider’s physical strength, coordination, balance, speech, etc.
Our hippotherapy program is designed to help those in need of physical therapy. Our horses are bred and trained by our partner, If Wishes Were Horses, in order to have the soundest animals in our program!
Therapeutic Riding
Therapeutic Riding is a recreational horseback riding class that is adapted specifically for individuals with disabilities.
Riders will improve on their posture, core strength, and balance while also building confidence and independence for everyday living skills. Our class is taught with an instructor and side-walkers, if necessary, to ensure participant safety.
